REPORTS & PLAYLISTS
APRIL 2010
Week Commencing April 5th
Very quiet on Monday night (Easter Monday), we don’t usually open Bank Holidays but had been requested to by our dancers. Quite a few who we were expecting didn’t turn but had a good nights dancing all the same. First half taught “LIVE LAUGH LOVE” (Rob Fowler) and then second half of the evening taught Maggie’s waltz “LOVING U”.
Playlist for night was :- Electric Slide, County Line, Grundy Gallop, Wishful Thinking, Come Dance With Me, Live Laugh Love (twice), Pot of Gold/Country Walking, This & That, It Hurts, Tennessee Waltz Surprise, Playing With Fire, Duck Soup, Go Mama Go, Picnic Polka, Life Without U, Little Red Book, Cranky, Louisiana Swing, You And I, Rain Against My Window, Bad Influence, Loving U, Broken Heels, Stuff You Gotta Watch, Just Dance Away, Upside Down, Coochie Bang Bang, Wild, Razor Sharp, Loving U (again) & Release Me.
On Wednesday night we had an excellent turnout at Saltaire. Decided to go for something easy this week and settled on “GLEEHAB” choreographed by Gary Lafferty to the Glee Cast version of Rehab. Also at the “last minute” was asked to teach “GAVE IT ALL AWAY”(Maggie Gallagher) choreographed to the Boyzone hit of the same name. Both dances received an excellent response from our dancers with everyone on the floor each time we danced them. Recapped last week’s dance Maggie’s waltz “LOVING U”, everybody enjoying this one now. Also quick recaps of Dee’s “ONE DAY YOU WILL” & Oli Geir’s “YOU AND I” both fabulous dances.
Playlist was :- Fire On Ice, It Hurts, Amame, Amor De Hielo, Mojo Rhythm, Cranky, Human Dancer, Rain Against My Window, Playing With Fire, Run, Louisiana Swing, Go With The Flow, Upside Down, Just Dance Away, Stuff You Gotta Watch, Broken Heels, Gleehab (twice), Poker Face, Gave It All Away (twice), Wild, Shoes of Another Man, Loving U, You And I, Tennessee Waltz Surprise, One Day You Will, Coochie Bang Bang, Gave It All Away (again), Hands Up, & Straight Thru
Week Commencing April 12th
Good attendance at Mondays Shipley class, some new faces and some we hadn’t seen for a month or two. Nothing new for the beginners, just a recap of last week’s dance “LIVE LAUGH LOVE” and quick walls of lots of others. We then taught Gary Lafferty’s “GLEEHAB”, all the beginners also got up for this one so we slowed the music down a touch the first time so we wouldn’t have a mass exodus from the floor, then got it almost up to full speed the second time we danced it. Great response from the floor, they all seemed to enjoy it. Later in the evening taught Maggie G’s “GAVE IT ALL AWAY” which also went down very well with our dancers. Other recaps included “LOVING U” (also Maggie’s) and “YOU AND I” (Oli Geir).
Playlist for the night was :- County Line, Easy Come Easy Go, Waltz Across Texas, Live Laugh Love, My New Life, Duck Soup, It Hurts, Pot of Gold/Country Walking, Picnic Polka, Life Without U, Mojo Rhythm/Cowboy Charleston, Gleehab (twice), Playing With Fire, Tennessee Waltz Surprise, Broken Heels, You And I, Upside Down, Cranky, Gave It All Away (twice), Coochie Bang Bang, Stuff You Gotta Watch, Wild, Loving U and Run.
Wednesday night at Saltaire we taught the new one from Kate Sala “DON’T KILL THE DJ” choreographed to We Belong To The Music by Timbaland & Miley Cyrus. A 64 count 4 wall dance with no syncopations, tags or restarts, was quite an easy teach and we had a full floor all three times we danced it but personally I’m not too keen on the music. Recapped the two dances we did last week “GLEEHAB” (Gary Lafferty) and “GAVE IT ALL AWAY” (Maggie Gallagher), of the two Maggie’s seems to be the favourite but plenty up on the floor for both. Also recapped Maggie’s waltz “LOVING U” fabulous dance, definitely one of my favourites.
Playlist was :- Tumbling Rush, Time To Swing, Galway Girls, All My Heart, J Ho, Cranky, Amame, Upside Down, Release Me, Playing With Fire, Wild, Evacuate The Dancefloor, Rain Against My Window, Go Mama Go, Shoes Of Another Man, Just Dance Away, Don’t Kill The DJ (twice), Tennessee Waltz Surprise, Gave It All Away (twice), You And I, Gleehab, Broken Heels, Loving U, Go With The Flow, One Day You Will, Don’t Kill The DJ (again), Stuff You Gotta Watch, Coochie Bang Bang & Run.
