Week Comm. August 8th

Very quiet at both classes this week. At Shipley on Monday we taught “VERTICAL EXPRESSIONS” (Teresa & Vera) in the early session, went down very well, also did lots of quick walls of other dances. In the second half taught Shaz’s “NOT DRUNK ENOUGH”, certainly a dance with a difference and not the easiest of teaches but well worth it. Once they have mastered this I’m sure it’s going to be a big hit with our class. Also did recaps of “DR FLAME”, “CLOSE TO PARADISE” & “DEVOTION”, all very popular.

On Wednesday at Saltaire decided to go with something easy as we seem to have had a run of quite difficult ones. We went with the winner in the intermediate category of the choreography competition at “World Masters” last weekend “HABA HABA”. Choreographed by Helena Jeppsson to a track of the same name by Stella Mwangi, the Norwegian entry in this years Eurovision. A fun 4 wall Phrased, easy intermediate dance which the majority of our class did look to be having fun dancing it. Recapped last week’s dance “NOT DRUNK ENOUGH” (Shaz Walton), had slowed it down a touch last week but this week danced at both the slower and normal speeds and the class preferred it at normal speed. A fabulous dance to a great track. Also lots of recaps and quick walls of many other recently taught dances.
