REPORTS & PLAYLISTS
JULY 2014
July 30th
Another hot one at class this week but well attended and
a great nights dancing. Decided to teach 2 new ones this week although one of
them a few had been doing for a while at other classes. First up was Peter &
Alison’s “YOUNG BLOOD”, I know we were a bit late with this one as it’s been
riding high in the Linedancer Magazine charts for some time now but it’s one
that we both like and also liked by a lot in the class who have done it
elsewhere. A 32 count nightclub with 2 restarts choreographed to “Young Blood”
by Sophie Ellis Bextor, got an excellent response from the class. The other new
one was the nice and easy “singalong” one from Niels Poulsen “SUCH A FOOL”
choreographed to “A Fool Such As I” by Jason Donovan. Wasn’t sure how this would
go down with the class as they are all experienced Intermediate/Advanced dancers
and we don’t usually teach beginner level dances but they loved it and asked for
it to be played again. It just shows it’s good to throw an easy one in now and
again.
Recapped last week’s dance “WALKING ON AIR” (Simon Ward &
Amy Glass), class loving this one with everyone up both times we danced it. Also
recapped “LIGHT ON” (Debbie McLaughlin) & “ONE TRACK MIND” (Alan Birchall) both
big hits with our dancers. Also quick walls of quite a few others when required.
