Week Commencing June 6th

Just recaps first half of night on Monday at our Shipley class. Second half taught the two we had taught the previous week at Saltaire, both Maggie’s dances, “ALL OF ME” & “THE FLUTE”. Both got an excellent response from the dancers as they had done at our other class and look like being big hits at both. Also did our usual quick recaps of other recently taught dances. 

Playlist for the night was:- This & That, Stroll Along Cha, Bosa Nova, Hello Dolly, Fly Like A Bird, Tennessee Waltz Surprise, Pot of Gold / Country Walking (floor split), Playing With Fire, Burlesque, People Are Crazy, I’m No Good, Fragile Not Broken, Come Dance With Me, Commitment, Amame / County Line (floor split), Sunset Mambo, Drip Dropping, All Of Me (twice), Party Freak, The Flute (twice), Only Girl & Don’t Be A Drag. 

On Wednesday at Saltaire our new dance for the night was “SOUL FOOD” choreographed by Lorenzo (GoLo) Evans to “Collard Greens & Cornbread” by Fantasia. We both love the music and the dance but had held off from teaching it as were not too sure whether it was for our class. After a number of requests to teach it we went ahead and the response was mixed, some loved it, some liked it but found the timing of the first part difficult and some gave up on it too soon and didn’t give it a chance.  Recapped the two dances from last week Maggie’s “ALL OF ME” & “THE FLUTE”, both floor fillers. Also quick walls of “SUNSET MAMBO”, “TELLING THE WORLD” and a few others.
