REPORTS  &  PLAYLISTS

SEPTEMBER  2011

Week comm. September 5th

Very quiet night at our Monday class at Shipley Club. In the first half of the evening taught “MY PRETTY BELINDA” (Vikki Morris), seemed to go down well with the few that were there. As we hadn’t had a class last week we had 2 dances to teach in the second half  to keep up with our Wednesday class and they both received a great response from the class. They were “LOVE 2 DANCE” (Simon Ward & Niels Poulsen) & “ALABAMA SLAMMIN” (Rachael McEnaney). Did quite a lot more floor splits which all seemed to work very well. At the end of the night just for a bit of fun showed them “THE WOBBLE” everybody got up and joined in, what a laugh !!

Playlist for the night was :- Bosa Nova, Wishful Thinking, Hello Dolly, Tennessee Waltz Surprise, Vertical Expressions, Pretty Belinda, Haba Haba, Pot of Gold / Country Walking (split floor), Telling The World / This & That (split floor), Party Freak / Stroll Along Cha (split floor), Something In The Water, I Am A Good Girl, 1-2-3-4, I’m No Good / Little Red Book (split floor), On The Edge / Black Coffee (split floor), Soul Food, Come Dance With Me, Alabama Slammin’, Close To Paradise, Not Drunk Enough, Love 2 Dance, No Scandal, Dr Flame, My Motivation, Beyond Your Eyes & The Wobble.

On Wednesday at Saltaire our new dance for the night was “HITCHED” choreographed by David Spencer aka “Speno” to the Bruno Mars track “Marry You”, a 64 count 4 wall dance with one restart on wall 4 facing the 12 o’clock wall. Although it’s quite a fast dance thought this would be an easy teach but they seemed to have some problem with the turning rumba boxes near the end but we got there in the end. Had read and heard good reports about this dance which had been taught at Graham & Kathy’s class the previous week and certainly didn’t disappoint at ours with everyone on the floor all three times we danced it. Recapped last week’s dance “LOVE 2 DANCE” (Simon Ward & Niels Poulsen) another dance that looks like being a hit with our dancers with just a few sitting it out who aren’t too keen on the music.. Also recapped “ALABAMA SLAMMIN” (Rachael McEnaney) going well with the majority and “MY MOTIVATION” (Guyton Mundy)  probably the Number One dance at our class at the moment. A few struggled with “NOT DRUNK ENOUGH” (Shaz Walton) so will have to make sure we go through that again with them next week.

Playlist was :- Rhyme Or Reason, Plan B, Upside Down, Burlesque, Only Girl, Drip Droppin’, I’m No Good, Unpredictable, Amame, Sunset Mambo, No Scandal, Dr Flame, The Flute, Soul Food, Close To Paradise, Hitched (twice), Haba Haba, Love 2 Dance, Devotion, My Motivation, Party Freak, Beyond Your Eyes, Alabama Slammin’, Not Drunk Enough, Hitched (again), On The Edge, Telling the World & All Of Me.
