REPORTS  &  PLAYLISTS

SEPTEMBER  2011

Week comm. September 19th

Another quiet night at our Monday class at Shipley, first half of night recapped “PRETTY BELINDA” (Vikki Morris) which is going down well with the class. We also did lots of floor splits to try to keep everybody dancing. In the second half we had 2 dances to teach to try and keep up with our Wednesday class. First was Peter & Alison’s “YOU AND I” a fabulous dance choreographed to the Mark Taylor remix of the Lady Gaga track of the same name. This looks like being a big hit at both our classes. Also taught “HITCHED” choreographed by David Spencer to “Marry Me” by Bruno Mars, this dance also going well at both our classes. Lots of other recaps during the night and then we finished of with a bit of a “WOBBLE”.

Playlist was :- Bosa Nova, Hello Dolly, Tennessee Waltz Surprise, Something In The Water, Vertical Expressions, Pot of Gold / Country Walking (floor split), Pretty Belinda, Soul Food, Party Freak / Stroll Along Cha (floor split), On The Edge / Black Coffee (floor split), Close To Paradise, I’m No Good / Little Red Book (floor split), Telling The World / This & That (floor split), Commitment, Dr Flame, Come Dance With Me, You And I (twice), Alabama Slamming, Devotion, Hitched, Beyond Your Eyes, My Motivation, Love 2 Dance & The Wobble.

On Wednesday at Saltaire we finally got round to teaching “MOVE A LIKE” choreographed by Ria Vos to “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5 ft Christine Aguilera. It’s one we’ve been going to teach for weeks but finally got round to it after seeing and hearing how popular it was at other local classes. A 2 wall, 64 count dance with an easily recognisable 4 count tag and quite an easy teach and got an excellent response from our class. Recapped last week’s dance “YOU AND I” (Peter & Alison) a big hit with our dancers and certainly looks like becoming a class favourite, also recapped “HITCHED” (David Spencer) another that is going well with the class.

Playlist for the night was :-  Quarter After One (no-on got up, must be losing favour), I’m No Good, Plan B, Amame, Drip Dropping, Burlesque, Beyond Your Eyes, Dr Flame, Playing With Fire, Party Freak, On The Edge, Cranky, The Flute, Alabama Slammin, Soul Food, No Scandal, Move A Like (twice), Haba Haba, You And I, Close To Paradise, Hitched, Love 2 Dance, Only Girl, My Motivation, All Of Me, Move A Like (again), Not Drunk Enough, Devotion, Telling The World & Don’t Be A Drag.
