On Monday in the first half at our
Shipley class recapped a few recently taught dances and
a couple we hadn’t done for a while. New dance for the
second half was “MOVE A LIKE” (Ria Vos), excellent
response from the class, also recapped “YOU AND I”
(Peter & Alison) also a big hit at both our classes plus
quick walls of a few others.
Playlist was :- Rio, Irish Stew, Bosa Nova, Tennessee
Waltz Surprise, Hello Dolly, Pretty Belinda, Pot Of Gold
/ Country Walking (split floor),1-2-3-4, Party Freak /
Stroll Along Cha, Something In The Water, Soul Food, On
The Edge / Black Coffee (split floor), Haba Haba,
Playing With Fire, Close To Paradise / Little Red Book
(split floor), Telling The World / This & That (split
floor), Commitment, You And I (twice), Dr Flame, Move A
Like (twice), My Motivation, Devotion, Love 2 Dance,
Hitched & Beyond Your Eyes.
On Wednesday at Saltaire wanted something easy as we
were going away on holiday for two weeks and found the
perfect dance in Maggie’s new night club “IF YOU WERE
MINE”, a 32 count, 4 wall intermediate dance with no
tags or restarts choreographed to a lovely track of the
same name by Sanna Nielsen. The track has quite an
abrupt ending but the en ding on the stepsheet is needed
to make a perfect finish. Went down very well with our
dancers and think this should be another big hit for
Maggie. Recapped last week’s dance “MOVE A LIKE” (Ria
Vos), all our dancers really enjoying this one, also
recaps of “YOU AND I” (Peter & Alison) & “HITCHED^
(David Spencer), both going well.
Playlist for the night was :- Rhyme Or Reason, Upside
Down, Only Girl, Plan B, Burlesque, Party Freak, Amame,
Dr Flame, I’m No Good, Telling The World, Alabama
Slammin, Playing With Fire, Soul Food, Poker Face, On
The Edge, If You Were Mine (twice), No Scandal, Move A
Like (twice), The Flute, You And I, Haba Haba, Love 2
Dance, Close To Paradise, If You Were Mine (again), Not
Drunk Enough, Hitched, All Of Me & Devotion.
We are now on holiday in Tenerife (sat in the apartment
typing this), our Monday class at Shipley will be closed
for 2 weeks, reopening 17th October but the Wednesday
class at Saltaire will be open as normal left in the
very capable hands of Marilyn & Bernie, hope you’ll all
give them your support. We’ll be back home late Friday
14th September, hopefully fully refreshed and rested for
the Shelf Social the following day.
